    Centerpiece: A Touch of Spring

    Recipe Introduction

This arrangement mixes a variety of colors, shapes, and textures for a fresh and clean arrangement that is very easy for even the most novice of floral arrangers to recreate at home. I used an old pewter pitcher handed down from my husband's grandmother, but you can use any wide mouthed pitcher, vase, or even jar for this casual arrangement. In a cool area, this arrangement should last about a week.

    List of Ingredients

    Short, wide pewter pitcher
    2 bunches yellow daffodils
    2 bunches salmon pink carnations
    3 white giant snapdragons

    Recipe

Fill the pitcher with water and floral preservative. Cut the stems of the daffodils off at an angle under running water, making sure to remove enough of the stem so that the heads just drape over the edge of the container.

Immediately place the daffodils in the pitcher, arranging them along the walls of the pitcher evenly. Cut the stems of the carnations off at an angle under running water, making them 2-3 inches longer than the daffodils.

Arrange the carnations immediately in the center of the pitcher, with the tallest ones in the center. Cut the stems of the snapdragons at an angle under running water, making the tops 5-6 inches taller than the tops of the carnations. Arrange them in the very center of the vase.
