Source of Recipe
A. Beveridge
List of Ingredients
1 cake plate (or dinner plate)
7" saucer
1 Smithers-Oasis Cake Form
Preservative
Ribbon or Lace for Base (a type that will not absorb water)
Variety of Cut Flowers
Recipe
1. Place a shallow plate or saucer on the cake plate for a water source.
2. Free float the Smither's-Oasis foam cake form in preservative water.
3. Decorate saucer and cake plate with ribbon, lace if desired or leave plain
(depending on your choice for Mom)
4. Place cake form in saucer
5. If you choose to add ribbons around the side of the cake form, use a type that will not absorb water.
6. Design as you choose in a specific pattern or at random.
7. Cut the flowers short and place them deep into the form so the flower heads touch the form.
8. Decorate with ribbons or special things that Mom likes.
9. This can be done in silk and dried flowers as well as fresh, or a combination of both.
A great idea for kids, the supervisor can cut the flowers and the children can place them in the foam to "decorate" the cake.
To water, place the entire cake in a sink or spray with fresh water. Let it drain and place back onto the cake plate.
