2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
5 whole figs -- finely sliced
1 cup chopped raisins
1 cup chopped nut meats
1/4 teaspoon salt
Recipe
Boil sugar and water together until it spins a long thread when dropped from the tip of the spoon (or until it forms a soft ball in cold water.) Pour this syrup slowly over stiffly beaten eggs, meanwhile beating constantly until it is cold. Add remaining ingredients.
