    "This how my Nonna would make these every Christmas season. The chestnuts along with fennel would be our last course ......Enjoy this wonderful treat!"

    You may want to watch the video first for another variation on how to cut chestnuts.....

    "I cut an X on each chestnut, then put them onto a heavy baking sheet -- single layer, sprinkled a little water over them and roasted (about 1 1/2 lbs) in a 375° oven for about 30 - 35 minutes till they curl a bit."

    When they're done take a kitchen towel (double folded) and put the hot chestnuts in it.

    Press lightly until they all crack, this will make it easier to peel, then eat!
