    List of Ingredients

    A GREAT egg substitute!
Try substituting 2 tablespoons of water, 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/2 tsp. of baking powder for each egg in a recipe. It works great!!
2 tablespoons of corn oil and 1 tablespoon of water can be substituted for each whole egg as well.
TWO GREAT EGG REPLACEMENTS... Hope you enjoy them!!!

Dip a new broom in hot salt water before using. This will toughen the bristles and make it last longer!

Create your own colored sugar by placing granulated sugar in a plastic bag. Add a few drops of your favorite food coloring and shake to blend. Pour out into a plate and let dry, then use!

Keep a toothbrush around the kitchen sink......you will find it useful in cleaning beaters, graters, peelers and similar kitchen utensils.

Use greased muffin tins as molds when baking stuffed peppers....Works Great!

Add a little vinegar to the water when an egg cracks during boiling. It will help seal the egg.

To freeze cookie dough, form the prepared dough into a thin tube shape. Wrap the dough in waxed paper. Take a cardboard tube from the center of an empty paper towel roll and cut a single slit down the center of the tube. Place the cookie dough inside the cardboard tube. Wrap again in waxed paper and then foil. The cardboard helps keep the dough in perfect shape for cookie slicing!

When baking and you need to "cut in" the butter, an easy way is to keep the sticks of butter in the freezer. When needed, use a cheese grater to grate the butter into fine pieces... (This works great for pie doughs!)
To keep bugs out of your flour, place a couple of bay leaves in the container!

If you put an orange, or any other citrus in the microwave for a few seconds it will be easier to juice… you will also be able to get more juice out of the fruit!

Set up your ironing board in or near the kitchen during the holidays and cover the surface with foil. It creates another four feet of space to hold ingredients or a place to cool your baked goods!

To hull strawberries, just insert a straw through the bottom towards the top. This removes the center and the leaves easily...

A leaf of lettuce dropped into the pot absorbs the grease from the top of soups or stews. Remove the lettuce and throw it away as soon as it has served its purpose!

When separating eggs, to remove a broken yolk from an egg white, just moisten a cloth and dip it into the yolk. The yolk will cling to the fabric…

To test the freshness of baking powder, just mix 1 tsp. of the baking powder with 1/3 cup hot water. If it doesn’t foam, it’s not fresh…

Often times a recipe calls for buttermilk. If you don't have any, just combine 1 cup milk with 1 T. white vinegar…let sit 5 minutes than use!

Before chopping nuts in a food processor, dust them with flour. This keeps the nuts from sticking to the blade or the bowl!

If you have run out of brown sugar, create a substitute! Using white sugar, begin adding molasses to it, combining with a fork. Continue to add molasses until desired darkness is achieved.

Keep a white candle near your recipe box. After writing out a new recipe card, rub the entire card with the candle. The wax coating causes spills to bead up and wipe off easily without ruining the card!

Spray non-stick cooking spray or wipe a little oil into measuring cups when measuring honey or peanut butter for a recipe. It pours right out!

When trying to remove a tight lid from a jar or bottle, place a dry pair of dishwashing gloves on. You will be able to grip it with both hands!

Try using raw spaghetti instead of toothpicks when securing stuffed chicken breasts and meats. It works great and it's edible!

Spray a bit of non-stick spray on your grater before shredding cheese. It prevents the cheese from sticking to the blade. (Try it, it really works!)

To test an egg for freshness, gently drop it into a glass of water. If the egg sinks to the bottom, then the egg is safe.

If you place a marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone, the ice cream will not leak through!

Always keep a clean plastic baggie handy when you have both hand in any food you are mixing….If the phone rings, just slip your hand into the baggie and pick up the phone. (My personal favorite!)

If you ever wondered how much ice you will need for a party, the rule of thumb is 1 pound per person!

Place a piece of aluminum foil under your napkin or paper towel in a bread basket to keep the bread or rolls warm longer.

To keep ants away…..place whole cloves around the windows or doors or anywhere else they appear. This works great!

To save leftover wine; freeze it in ice cube trays…. The cubes can then be dropped into soups or stews or any dish you would season with wine!

For a quick, fancy presentation on cakes or pies, try placing a wide-patterned doily on top of the cake, then sprinkle powdered sugar over it and remove. Beautiful!

Add about 1 teaspoon of raw rice to your salt shaker to keep the salt free-flowing.

Use cocoa powder to dust baking pans when making chocolate cakes. The cakes will not have that white flour look on the outside.

When shipping cookies and baked goods for the holidays, pack them in layers of popcorn. Not only does it prevent breaking, but it's edible too!

When trimming crusts from the children's toast every morning, store the edges in a plastic freezer bag. When a batch is accumulated, place in a food processor to make bread crumbs.

The lid on most brands of vanilla equals one teaspoon. When you are in a hurry, just use the cap to measure.

To clean tarnished copper bottoms of pots and pans, spread a little ketchup onto the bottom. Let it sit for about one minute. Wipe it clean and rinse. (I love this one!)
