Recipe Introduction
"Here is a Santa treat he will remember long after his visit to your home (but don't forget the glass of milk)!! This wonderful cookie recipe is from my mother's file. She would make it when she wanted to make a cookie chuck-full-of-good-taste. Try it out this year! (By the way, they are good any time of the year.)
List of Ingredients
3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks)
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/4 cup milk
6-7 oz. package shredded coconut
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup raisins
1/4 teaspoon salt
11/2 tablespoons baking powder (4 1/2 teaspoons)
3 cups flour, sifted or fluffed before measuring
Recipe
Beat butter with white and brown sugar. Gradually add eggs and beat well after each addition. Beat in milk. Stir in coconut, chips, nuts and raisins. Stir in salt, baking powder and flour. Drop by spoonful on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Be sure to serve with a tall glass of cold milk.
NOTE: The amount of chocolate chips and raisins may be varied or exchanged with each other to suit personal taste preferences.
