    Valentine's Day: Dickey House Valentine's Truffles

    List of Ingredients

    3 Cups (18 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 can (14 ounces) of Sweetened Condensed Milk or Creamy Chocolate Sweetened Condensed Milk (do not use evaporated milk)


    One or more of the following:
    1 teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract (do not use imitation vanilla), 3 drops of orange oil, 3 drops of peppermint oil, 3 drops of rum extract

    Coatings: use one or all
    Finely chopped toasted nuts
    Chocolate or Colored Sprinkles
    Unsweetened cocoa powder
    Tiny hard candies (such as small hearts)
    Flaked coconut
    Powdered sugar
    Purchased frosting



    Recipe

    Melt the chips with the sweetened condensed milk in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat when chips are melted. Seperate mixture into several small bowls (depending on the number of flavorings you intend to use). Stir in the flavorings, one per bowl.

    Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours.

    Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in the desired coating and/or decorate with frosting and candies.

    Put each candy in a small paper candy wrapper.

    Store tightly covered in refridgerator or freeze for future use.
