    1 1/2 lbs ground beef
    1/2 cup of Contadina Pizza sauce (2 carbs for ¼ cup)
    sliced pepperoni
    shredded mozzarella
    black olive slices or bits of fresh mushrooms

    Recipe



    Fry up and crumble about a pound and a half of ground beef. Drain the fat. Stir in 1/2 cup of Contadina Pizza sauce (2 carbs for ¼ cup). Transfer to a baking dish. Cover with sliced pepperoni. Cover that with lots of shredded mozzarella. Throw on some black olive slices or bits and fresh mushrooms. Bake at 400 F for 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
    Serving Suggestions:
    his was dinner for 2 of us tonight, along with a cup of salad. We felt just like we were having pizza! (Hubby was disappointed there wasn't another "pizza".) You could substitute Ragu or some other spaghetti sauce, but it has twice the carbs as the pizza sauce I mentioned, which comes in a squeeze bottle. (Contadina is a brand that I think is not "regional", but available nationwide.
    Additional Comments:
    You could also check out NEWMAN'S Sauces if you are having trouble finding the Contadina brand.

    I found that Ragu Four Cheese Alfredo Sauce has 2 carbs per ¼ cup. I'm going to try that over hamburger. I think it would also make a great sauce for veggies or even in an omelette.
