Banana: Banana Nutmeg Mini Muffins

1 cup All-purpose flour
1 cup Whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Ground allspice
1 Egg
1/2 cup Buttermilk
1/2 cup Mashed bananas -- very ripe
1/3 cup Oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees; coat miniature muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray or line with paper baking cups. In a large bowl, combine the flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, salt and allspice; mix well. Beat the egg in a small bowl. Add the buttermilk, banana and oil; mix well. Add to the dry ingredients; stir just until the dry ingredients are moistened. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until light golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Immediately remove from the pan. Serve warm.
