    Misc: French Muffins

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. of milk
    1/2 c. of sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    6 tbsp. butter or margarine melted

    Recipe

    In mixer bowl, cream together the first 1/2 cup of
    sugar, shortening, and the eggs.

    Sift together
    flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg, add to creamed
    mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each
    addition.

    Fill 12 greased muffin pans 2/3 full.


    Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Combine
    the remaining sugar and cinnamon.

    Remove muffins from oven immediately and dip muffins in melted butter or margarine, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated. Serve warm.
