    Dough: Basic Tart Dough & Fillings

    1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

    1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    Yield: 24 tart shells

    In 2 quart bowl, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add flour; mix until soft dough forms. Cover; chill at least 1 hour or overnight. Preheat oven to 450*F. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place each ball of dough in cups of un-greased miniature-muffin pan. Using a miniature-tart shaper, dip it in flour; press into dough to form tart shell. Pierce tart shells with a fork; bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Carefully remove cooling rack. Cool completely. Fill as desired.

    Fillings

    Pecan Tassies
    2 T. melted butter
    3/4 C. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 C. chopped pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Mix all the ingredients until well blended. Fill each unbaked tart shell. Bake at 350ºF for 15 to 20 minutes. Dust tops with confectioners' sugar when cool.

    B.B.Q. Beef Tarts
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 C. B.B.Q. sauce
    1/4 C. chopped onion
    2 T. brown sugar
    Shredded Cheddar cheese

    Brown ground beef and drain. Stir in B.B.Q. sauce, onions, and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat until hot and bubbly. Evenly divide beef mixture into unbaked tart shell. Bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top 5 minutes before done.

    Cookie Kisses
    1 (20 oz.) pkg. refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
    36 chocolate Kisses, unwrapped
    Flour

    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Cut roll of dough into 9 slices. Cut each circle into 4 pieces. Lightly grease 3 mini-muffin pans. Place one piece of dough in each cup. Dip mini-tart shaper in flour and press into dough to form a cup. Re-flour the mini-tart shaper between forming each cup. Place a chocolate kiss in each cup. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cookies cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
