    Tart: Apple and Almond Cheesecake Tart

    9" pie crust, unbaked
    1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. almond extract (NOT imitation)
    4-5 small eating apples
    your favorite caramel topping
    thinly sliced toasted almonds

    Recipe



    Bake the pie crust for about 5 minutes at 350 degrees. While it's baking, beat together cream cheese and sugar.

    Add egg and almond extract and continue beating until smooth. After the pie crust comes out of the oven, peel and core the apples. Slice thinly and place in pie crust. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the apples. Bang and tap the pie pan a little to even things out.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, depending on your oven. It will look pretty firm. Let cool completely. Drizzle lightly with caramel topping and sprinkle with the almonds.
