Mrs. Truman's Ozark Pudding
Source of Recipe
First Lady Truman
Recipe Introduction
White House meals have varied greatly through the years, reflecting the part of the country from which the President came, the times and the chef's ability.
Mrs. Harry S. Truman favored typically American dishes. Many were made by recipes she had collected throughout her long years as a homemaker, some of them from her native Missouri. This recipe attracted nationwide attention when it was first published in 1948. Letters poured into the White House, questioning some of the directions, but Mrs. Truman stuck to her guns.
