    President Reagan's Macaroni & Cheese

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 pound macaroni
    • 1 Tblsp. butter
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 3 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1 cup warm milk
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. dry mustard
    • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    • Pinch of paprika


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 2-quart casserole dish.

    2. Add macaroni to 2 quarts boiling, salted water and cook for 10 minutes. Drain well in a colander. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

    3. Stir in butter and beaten egg. Add 2 1/2 cups of the grated cheese.

    4. In a small bowl, combine milk and salt, mustard and Worcestershire sauce/ Spoon macaroni and cheese into the prepared casserole dish. Pour milk mixture o9ver and sprinkle top with remaining cheese.

    5. Spribkle with paprika. Bake on middle shelf of a preheated over for 35-40 minutes or until macaroni is firm to the touch and the top is crusty and browned. Serve at once.



    Final Comments


    YIELD: Serves 4 as an entree or 6 - 8 as a side dish.
