Popcorn: Cracker Jacks

- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 6 quarts popped popcorn
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil without stirring for five minutes. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla.
- Gradually pour over the popped corn, mixing well.
- Turn mixture into two large baking or roasting pans.
- Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, cool completely. Break apart and store in a tightly covered container.
- Makes about 5 quarts.
