Stew: Ma's Scallop Stew

I can't believe I found this recipe! I used to go the The Mooring is Newport, RI just for their scallop stew. I could never even find any scallop stew recipes on the internet and here's one that Ma used to make that's just a good!
List of Ingredients
1 quart of fresh scallops
1 quart of half and half (you can use fat free)
6 Tblsp. butter
1 medium onion -chopped
Salt and white pepper to taste
1 can of corn - drained
Recipe
Cook scallops and onion in a small amount of water-enough to cover them and bring to a boil. Add to that pan the half and half, butter, corn, salt and pepper. Heat to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
Refridgerate overnight.
Re-heat and serve.
