Take a double boiler to heat the mixture gently.
If you do not have a double boiler take two
sauce pans and place one on top of the other.
Start with a 1/2 a stick of butter and saute one
chopped celery stalk and one chopped onion.
Cook on medium for three minutes to slightly
soften the vegetables.
Add a pint of oysters along with the oyster liquor
( make sure the color is somewhat clear )
Take a cup and a half of whole milk and a half a cup of half and half.
If you want some spice or seasoning we recommend Old Bay and thyme along with some salt and pepper.
Heat thoroughly. To test whether the stew is done.
Check the oysters. The flaps of the oysters
should start to curl up or wrinkle.
Serve with oyster crackers and you got yourself a meal!
