Dip- Chili Con Queso

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 can 8 1/4 oz) tomatoes, undrained
1 can (4 oz) green chiles, drained and chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound Monterey Jack cheese, cubed (or cheddar)
1/4 cup heavy creamRecipe
1. In hot buter in medium skillet, saute onion until tender. Add tomatoes, chilies, and salt, mashing tomatoes with fork. Simmer stirring occasionally, 15 minutes.
2. Add cheese cubes, stirring until chese is melted. Stir in cream. Cook, stirring constantly 2 minutes.
3. Remove from heat, and let stand 15 minutes. Serve warm, as a dip with tortilla chips or corn chips
Makes 6 servings.
