    Hot Mushroom Dip


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 slices bacon, fried crisp, drained, crumbled set aside, reserve fat
    • 2 Tablespoons bacon fat, reserved from cooking bacon
    • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
    • 2 tablespoon flour
    • 1/4 teaspon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
    • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
    • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup sour cream


    Instructions


    1. In skillet where bacon was cooked, warm the bacon fat. Saute the onions, mushrooms, and garlic until they are tender and the liquid is evaporated (careful not to brown)
    2. Mix in the flour, salt and ground pepper.
    3. Reduce the heat and stir in the cream cheese, Worcestershire and soy sauce. Blend until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the reserved bacon and sour cream.
    4. Serve with assorted crackers and/or breadsticks
