List of Ingredients 1/2 cup hot milk 2 tablespoon shortening 2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 cup warm mashed potatoes 1 teaspoon salt 3 1/4 cups white flour 1 package dry yeast 1/4 cup warm water Instructions Mix the hot mik, shortening, sugar, salt and 1/4 cup of the four in a large bowl and let cool to lukewarm. Stir the yeast into the warm water and let it stand for 5 minutes to dissolve. Add the dissolved yeast to the first mixture and beat vigorously. Cover and let rise in a warm place until light. Stir, add the remaining 3 cups of flour, and mix well. Cover and let rise again to double in bulk. Turn out onto a lightly floured board. Pat the dough until it is 1/4-inch thick and cut into 2-inch rounds. Place the rounds about 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise until almost double.
