    Biscuits- Potato Biscuits

    The mashed potatoes are a nice addition to Angel type biscuits.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup hot milk
    • 2 tablespoon shortening
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/2 cup warm mashed potatoes
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3 1/4 cups white flour
    • 1 package dry yeast
    • 1/4 cup warm water


    Instructions


    1. Mix the hot mik, shortening, sugar, salt and 1/4 cup of the four in a large bowl and let cool to lukewarm.
    2. Stir the yeast into the warm water and let it stand for 5 minutes to dissolve.
    3. Add the dissolved yeast to the first mixture and beat vigorously.
    4. Cover and let rise in a warm place until light.
    5. Stir, add the remaining 3 cups of flour, and mix well.
    6. Cover and let rise again to double in bulk.
    7. Turn out onto a lightly floured board.
    8. Pat the dough until it is 1/4-inch thick and cut into 2-inch rounds.
    9. Place the rounds about 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise until almost double.
    10. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
    11. Bake biscuits for about 15 minutes.
