Garlic Bread, Kavanaugh's Sylvan Lodge
List of Ingredients
Makes 1 9 x 5 inch loaf
1 1-pound loaf frozen bread dough
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
1 tablesoon beaten egg
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Recipe
Thaw bread just until it can be sliced, about 20 minutes. Cut into 15 pieces.
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in parley, egg and salt. Roll bread pieces into balls. Dip each into butter mixture, coating completely. Arrange in a single layer in buttered 9 x 5-inch pan. Let rise in warm draft-free area until doubled, about 2 1/2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake until top is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let cool slightly in pan before serving.
