Quick- Lemon Nectarine Loaf
List of Ingredients
- 1 medium nectarine
- 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon mace
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Glaze
- Juice of one lemon
- 1/4 cup sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.
- Finely dice nectarine to measure 1 cup.
- Mix flour with baking powder, salt and mace.
- Cream butter, sugar and lemon peel together. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Add nectarines and milk, then add flour mixture,dough should be moderately soft.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Turn into loaf pan. Place below center of oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 60 to 65 minutes.
- Mix together lemon juice and sugar in small bowl or measuring cup. Pour over bread when it comes out of oven.
- Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Yield 1 loaf.
