    Bar- Peanut Butter Jam Bars


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 2 cups peanut butter morsels, divided use
    • 1 cup strawberry jam


    Instructions


    1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating well. Add peanut butter, egg, and vanilla, mixing well.

    2. Combine flour, soda, and baking powder; gradually add to butter mixture, mixing well. Reserve 1 cup dough.

    3. Stir 1 cup peanut butter morsels into remaining dough; press in bottom of a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Spread jam evenly over dough. Crumble reserved dough over jam, and sprinkle with remaining peanut butter morsels.

    4. Bake at 325 degrees F for 40 minutes or until golden. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack, and cut into bars. Cookies may be frozen up to 3 months. Yield about 3 dozen.
