    List of Ingredients


    • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
    • 1 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cup pecan, coarsely chopped


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch metal baking pan; line with foil and grease again, if desired.
    2. In a heavy large saucepan, melt butter or margarine over low heat. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in brown sugar and vanilla. Stir in eggs until well blended. In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; blend flour mixture into butter mixture. stirring just untill blended. Mix in pecans.
    3. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bakes 30 miutes or until toothpicks inserted towards center of pan comes out clean. Do not overbake; bars will firm up as they cool. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
    4. When cool, transfer with foil to cutting board. Makes about 2 dozen bars.
