    Bar- Knock You Naked Brownies


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
    • 3/4 cup ( 1 1/2 sticks) margarine or butter
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup semisweet real chocolate chips
    • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (or just 1 cup)
    • 1 package (14 ounces) caramels, unwrapped
    • 1/3 cup evaporated milk


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Microwave chocolate and margarine in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until margarine is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
    3. Stir sugar into melted chocolate mixture. Mix in eggs and vanilla until well blended. Stir in flour. Remove 1 cup batter; set aside. Spread remaining batter in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and 1 cup of the nuts.
    4. Microwave caramels and milk in same bowl on HIGH 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until caramels are completely melted and smooth. Spoon over chocolate chips and nuts, spreading to edges of pan. Gently spread reserved batter over caramel mixture (I drop batter by teaspoonsful all over, then spread). Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of nuts (if using).
    5. Bake for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Do not overbake. Cool in pan, cut itno squares. Makes about 24 brownies (I cut them into 36 usually because they are so rich).


    Final Comments


    Brach's and Hershey's sell the right size back. (Hershey seems to have resized the bag since last time I bought there wasn't enough--but current research shows the bag is 14 ounces)
