    Drop- Long Ago Lemon Cookies

    A cake type cookie


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/3 cups plus 1/4 cup sugar, divided use
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared lemon peel
    • 2 cups dairy sour cream
    • 1/4 teaspoon mace or nutmeg


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat.
    2. Add flour, soda, salt, 1 1/3 cups sugar, lemon peel,and sour cream. Mix thoroughly.
    3. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with mace.
    4. Drop cookie dough on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar/mace mixture.
    5. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes until very lightly browned. Cool.
