Shark Steaks with Avocado Butter
List of Ingredients
- 8 small shark steaks or halibut or swordfish
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- lemon wedges
- parley sprigs
- Avocado Butter
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup mashed ripe avocado
- 4 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions
- Combine the soy sauce, lemon peel, lemon juice, garlic, mustard and oil in a small bowl, blending well.
- Place the fish in a shallow 9 x 13 baking dish (or large zip-type bag). Pour the marinade over the fish.
- Marinate the fish for 1 to 3 hours in the refrigerator.
- To cook, place the fish on a preheated broiler pan-- or cook on the barbecue. Broil 5 to 6 minutes per side. During cooking, brush the fish often with the marinade.
- Garnish with the lemon wedges and parsley sprigs. Serve with Avocado Butter.
- Make Avocado Butter; Whip the butter with an electric mixer in a small bowl until soft and creamy. Beat in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to serve. The butter will hold for 1 hour.
