Chicken Fried Round Steak w/ Cream Gravy
List of Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, cut 1/2 inch thick, pounded thin
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoon milk
- 1 cup flour or cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons oil or rendred beef fat
- 1cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Cut the pounded steak into serving pieces. Dip in the eggs mixed with the milk and then in the flour or cracker crumbs mixed with the salt and pepper.
- Heat the oil or fat in a heavy skillet (400 degrees on an electric skillet) and brown the steaks in it very quickly on both sides. Remove to a warm platter.
- Stir in the cream and cook, stirring to loosen all browned-on bits. Serve gravy over mashed potatoes.
