List of Ingredients
1 clove garlic
1/2 small hot pepper, seeded
1 cup loosely packed, fresh basil
1 1/2 cups olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add garlic and pepper. Pulse 2 or 3 times or until garlic and pepper are minced. Add basil, 1/4 cup olive oil, and salt, and process until basil is minced.
Spoon mixture into a pint jar, and add remaining 1 1/4 cups olive oil. Cover tightly, and shake vigorously.
Store mixture in refrigerator up to 1 wek. To serve, toss a small amount of flavored oil over steamed yellow squash, red pepper, or carrots. Yield 1 3/4 cups.
