    1 cup sugar
    3/4 white wine vinegar
    1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoon water
    3/4 cup pineapple juice
    1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
    1/2 teaspoon red food coloring

    Recipe



    1. Combine the sugar, vinegar, 1/3 cup water and pineapple juice in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    2. Blend the cornstarch with the remaining water and stir into the sauce. Stir in the food coloring. Yield about 2 1/3 cups.
