Carrots- In Mustard Sauce
List of Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) package baby carrots, scraped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1 cup milk or half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespon chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Cook carrots in a small amount of boiling salted water 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain well; set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Pour over carrots; toss gently. Sprinkle with chives. Yield 4 servings.
