Spareribs, Cabbage and Kraut
List of Ingredients
3-4 lean pork spareribs, cut into serving pieces
salt & pepper
1 sm. can sauerkraut
1/2 of a sm. head of cabbage, thinly sliced
1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
1 apple quartered, cored and sliced
1 teas. of caraway seed or dill week
1 c. water
1 teas. salt

Recipe
Sprinkle salt & pepper on spareribs, and brown for 30 minutes in a heavy skillet or broiler pan. Put alternate layers of spareribs, sauerkraut, cabbage, onions and apples in crock-pot. Add caraway seed or dill weed and 1 teas. salt to water and pour over all. Cover and set to Low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours. (If cooked on high, be sure to stir several times during cooking time.)
