    Caitlin'z Toazty Donutz

    Source of Recipe

Caitlin, Funk Queen of the Northern Hemisphere

    Recipe Introduction

This little gem of a recipe came from the brain of one of my best friends ever: Caitlin. On a silly spring evening shopping for food, she wordlessly slipped a box of tiny powdered donuts into my shopping cart and said "I am about to ROCK YOUR WORLD." And she did.

Don't be puzzled by the Z's in the recipe title. That's how it's supposed to be spelled.

    List of Ingredients

    • One box of powdered mini-donuts - preferably Tastykake brand

    Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven as hot as it will go. Mine goes as hot as "broil," so that's what we used.
    2. Slice the mini-donuts carefully lengthwise, like a bagel.
    3. Feed any donuts you accidentally break to the dog, or to hungry people hanging around in your kitchen.
    4. Place the donuts cut-side-up on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil.
    5. Place sheet of donuts in the oven for about 30 seconds - literally. The idea is to brown them just a little bit on the tops, and they will do that VERY quickly. Keep an eye on 'em.
    6. Once they start to brown, remove the donuts from the oven. Let them cool off a little before removing them with a spatula.
    7. Stick them on a plate and serve! They taste great with ice cream...
