    Oven Beef Stew

    Oven Beef Stew

    2 lbs. Beef, cut into cubes
    2 medium onions, cut up
    3 stalks celery, sliced
    4 carrots, sliced
    2 cups of tomato juice
    1/3 cup tapioca
    1 TAB. sugar
    1 TAB salt
    ¼ teaspoon pepper
    ½ teaspoons basil
    3 potatoes, cubed

    Combine all but the potatoes in a 3-qt. Casserole dish.
    Cover and bake at 325 for 3 1/2 hours.
    Add the potatoes on the last hour.
    Stir occasionally.
