    Here's my mom's recipe for sugar cookies. It's a little different than Dana's, so I thought I'd share it too.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 c. shortening
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 t. vanilla
    • 2 2/3 c. flour
    • 1 t. baking powder
    • 1/2 t. soda
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/2 c. sour cream


    Instructions


    1. Mix, roll and cut out. Bake @ 425 degrees for 8 to 10 min.
    2. Mom doubles this and uses Crisco for the shortening or you can use 1/2 oleo and 1/2 Crisco. Just don't bake too long! She sprinkles sugar on them or uses a thin icing and decorates for holidays.
