Chocolate Apple Crumb Pie
List of Ingredients
5-7 large tart apples
1- 9" unbaked deep dish pie shell
1 cup sugar, divided
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semisweet) divided
Recipe
Pare apples; cut in 8ths and arrange half of the apples in unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with the cinnamon, then 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips. Then layer the rest of the apples on top of the chips. Mix remaining sugar with flour; cut in butter till crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Then remove from oven and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over the top and bake 5 more minutes or till melted and almost bubbly. Let cool till chocolate is no longer a liquid and serve with a good vanilla bean ice cream.
