Cajun Beer Burgers
List of Ingredients
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup beer
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 pound lean ground beef
1 recipe cajun beer sauce
6 hamburger buns, toastedRecipe
In a large mixing bowl combine the first 10 ingredients. Shape into 3/4 inch thick patties. Grill. Meanwhile make Cajun Beer Sauce. Serve burgers on buns with romaine lettuce and tomato slices. Top each one with Cajon Beer sauce.
Cajun Beer Sauce
In a small saucepan cook 1/4 cup chopped onion and 1/4 cup chopped green or red peppers in 1 tablespoon oil till tender. Stir together 1/2 cup beer, 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning. Add to saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 more minutes. Serve over burgers or fish.
