    Velvet Crumb Cake (on original box)

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups Bisquick
    3/4 cups sugar
    3 tablespoons shortening
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 egg
    3/4 cup milk

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 inch square or 9 inch round pan. Mix 1/4 cup of the milk with other ingredients. Beat one minute on medium speed on mixer or vigorously by hand. Stir in rest of milk; beat 1/2 minute. Pour in pan. Bake 35-40 minutes. While warm, cover with topping.

    Broiled topping: Mix 3 tablespoons soft butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons cream, 1/2 cup coconut, 1/4 cup chopped nuts. Spread on baked cake. Put about 3 inches under broiler until brown, about 3 minutes.
