Chive-Cheese Corn Bread

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter/margarine, melted
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons minced chivesRecipe
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and butter. Stir into dry ingredients just till moistened. Gently fold in cheese and chives. Pour into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 18 minutes or till golden brown. Cut into strips; serve warm. Yields: 12-15 servings.
