PITA BREAD

1 package yeast
2 tablespoons water (warm)
1/3 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 cup flour
pinch of salt
3 tablespoons oilRecipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Dissolve yeast in the 2 tablespoons water. Beat the sugar into the egg and add this to theyeast; stir well. Sift the flour with the salt and stir in theyeast mixture plus the 3 tablespoons of oil. Add the remaining water and mix the dough. Cover it and let rise until double.Punch the dough down and shape into about 12 to 14 cakes about4 1/2 inches wide. Put these onto an oiled cookie sheet andlet rise until almost doubled. Prick the cakes lightly with a fork; brush with cooking oil and bake for 20 minutes or until light brown.
