Scottish Scones
List of Ingredients
3 cups flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons sugar
salt
4 Tablespoons butter
1 egg
milkRecipe
Sift dry ingredients, cut in butter. Mix egg with a little milk and add until mixture forms a soft ball. (Add more milk if necessary)divide into 2 balls. Roll out to 1/2" thickness (not any thinner)cut into pie shaped pieces.
Bake on ungreased griddle (I use an electric skillet) until golden brown (360 degrees). Turn to other side, until this side is brown also. Scones rise while baking. Set on sides for a few minutes to lightly brown.
Split while still warm, spread with butter and eat. Some like jam inside after being split.
