Brown Sugar Drop Cookies
List of Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup butter, cut up
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 large cookie sheets. On sheet of waxed paper, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. In 3 quart saucepan, heat butter and brown sugar to boiling over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in flour mixture, eggs and vanilla till combined. Set pan in skillet of warm water.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, 1 inch apart, on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes, rotating sheets between upper and lower racks halfway through baking, or till edges are browned and centers are set. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets.
With wide spatula, transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completley. Repeat with remaining cookie dough. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
