Cottage Cheese Cookies

9 tablespoon butter/margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 cup cottage cheese
2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt Recipe
Cream the butter with the sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs, lemon juice and lemon peel. Press the cottage cheese through a sieve and add it to the batter, beating well. Sift the dry ingredients together, add them to the batter and mix thoroughly. Drop the batter by the teaspoonful onto buttered baking sheets, spacing the mounds well apart. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly browned.
