    Cream Cheese Cookie Pastries

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    1-8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
    2 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoons salt
    1/3 cup tart red jelly or jam

    Recipe



    Cream butter and cream cheese till fluffy; gradually blend in sugar. Stir together flour and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Cover; chill dough several hours or overnight. Divide dough in thirds. On lightly floured surface, roll each portion to 12 1/2x 10 inch rectangle. With fluted pastry wheel, cut into 2 1/2 inch squares. Place a dot of jelly in center of each square; bring up two diagonal corners to center, pinching together to seal.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees till firm but not brown, about 12 minutes. If desired, sift additional powdered sugar over slightly warm pastires. Makes 5 dozen.
