Lacy Oatmeal Crisps
In saucepan combine 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, and 1/4 cup butter or margarine. Cook and stir over low heat till melted; remove from heat. Stir in 2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add 1 well-beaten egg; mix well.
Drop from teaspoon 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet; stir remaining batter often. Bake at 375 degrees for 6-7 minutes. Cool 2 minutes; gently remove to cooling rack. Makes 48.
