    Peppermint Delights

    List of Ingredients




    3 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 cups butter, softened
    2 cups powdered sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    2 cups quick cooking oats, uncooked
    1/2 cups crushed peppermint candy
    Icing

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine flour and salt in bowl; set aside. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl till light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Gradually stir in flour. Stir in oats and candy. Divide dough into 1/4's. On surface sprinkled with powdered sugar roll one quarter of the dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut out with 3 inch cookie cutter. Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes, till golden brown. Repeat with remaining dough and scraps. Decorate with red and white icing to look like a candy cane.
