    Pizzelles

    List of Ingredients

This recipe takes a pizzelle maker. You can use either the electric one or the one you hold over a fire. (very slow with varied results) The electric one you can get at a department store or from a gourmet store from $20-$50.

1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
    2/3 cup sugar
    3 eggs
    2 cups flour
    2 Tablespoon anise oil
    1 teaspoons baking powder
    pinch of salt

    Recipe

Mix all ingredients together so it isn't sticky. The smoother the dough the more delicate the cookie. Put about one tablespoon of dough in the front third of the iron and cook till a light golden brown.

To bend or mold into different shapes make sure you work fast as these tend to cool off very fast.

To freeze: let cool for about 1 hour and freeze in a plastic resealable bag.

This recipe can be used for ice cream cones, dessert cups, and you can also cut the cookies into 1/4's and dip in melted chocolate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Also experiment with different flavorings. I've used lemon, strawberry, almond, chocolate, rum, mint and chocolate mint. Go nuts. I've also put in 1 envelope of unsweetened Kool-aid with of any flavoring to make an intensely flavored cookie. My family loves them!
