    Snow Covered Almond Crescents

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup (2 sticks) butter/margarine, softened
    3/4 cup powdered sugar
    1/2 teaspoon almond extract or 2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 3/4 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
    1 cup oats (uncooked)
    1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
    powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 325 degrees. Beat butter, sugar and almond extract till well blended. Add flour and salt; mix till well blended. Stir in oats and almonds. Using level tablespoonsfuls, shape dough into crescents. Bake 14 -17 minutes or till bottoms are light golden brown (tops will not brown). Remove to wire rack. Sift additional powdered sugar generously over warm cookies. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes about 3 dozen.
