Gold Bar
List of Ingredients
Serves 10 to 12
1 package (1/4 ounce) unflavored gelatin
1 3/4 cups warm milk
1 package (4-serving size) vanilla pudding and pie filling mix (see Note)
1 package (11 ounces) butterscotch-flavored chips Recipe
Coat a 9- by 5-inch glass loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large saucepan, combine the gelatin and milk until the gelatin is dissolved. Slowly stir in the pudding mix; mix well. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the butterscotch chips and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the chips are melted and the mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Pour into the loaf pan, cover, and chill for 3 to 4 hours, or until firm.
Using a knife, loosen the "bar" from the sides of the dish and invert onto a serving platter. Cut and serve.
Note: Make sure to use cook-and-serve pudding mix, not instant. You might even want to use a squeeze container of chocolate syrup to write "14 Karat" or a personalized message on the top of the "bar."
