President Reagan's Macaroni and Cheese

I found this about 20 years ago in a weekly magazine. They were doing famous peoples recipes and this was one of the best.
1/2 pound macaroni
1 teaspoon butter
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup milk
3 cups grated sharp cheese
Recipe
Boil macaroni in water until tender, drain and let cool. Stir in butter and egg. Mix salt and mustard with 1 tablespoon water, add to milk and set aside. Add cheese, leaving enough to sprinkle on top. Pour into buttered casserole, add milk, sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until custard is set and top is crusty.
